Paulina Mirowska

Paulina Mirowska is a graduate of the University of the Arts in Poznań, where she majored in photography. She is currently also studying graphic design. Since 2011, she has been teaching the fundamentals of analog photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She is committed to continuing to use analog photography—which has been supplanted by the development of digital imaging methods—and to further exploring its technical and aesthetic possibilities. Paulina Mirowska’s work revolves around themes of humanity and nature, interpersonal relationships, and identity. She creates most of her works using the screen-printing process. She particularly values the freedom to experiment and the uniqueness of the prints that arise from the gestural act of printing. In her work, Paulina uses both analog and digital photographs as a foundation. She experiments with the tonal qualities of black, bright, and unusual papers, thereby lending her monochromatic works a sense of spatial depth.
